About me
Peter Camps, born and raised in Diest, Belgium where he grew up in the family furniture business.
In 1987, he made a leap of faith when he decided to build a career in the beer business and started his apprenticeship at the brewery “De Kluis” in Hoegaarden.
After an extensive training and mentoring program for 3 years with the original five Brewmasters from “Brewery De Kluis, 170 years of combined knowledge & experience, Peter, alongside with the legendary Pierre Celis, opened the Celis Brewery in Austin, TX in 1992.
Peter became a brewmaster himself in 1994. He went to work for Heineken USA in 2002 and currently holds a management position in the Commercial Marketing On-Premise department.
His passion for Quality has led him to focus on improving quality standards and innovation for the on-trade channel. Peter is also a certified Global Draught Master for Heineken USA.
